In many high performance audio systems, individual drivers are driven by dedicated amplifiers. For such systems, the EC6 offers the following advantages:

Elimination of ringing and phase differences between drivers that are introduced by the speaker's internal passive crossover

Reduction of an individual amplifier's required bandwidth
